The Autism Center is one of eight major programs of the University of Washington Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities. It provides intervention services, diagnostic evaluation and program consultation for children from birth through adolescence with autism and autism spectrum disorders. Services are provided by a multi-disciplinary team that includes educators, psychologists, behavior analysts, speech language pathologists, occupational therapists and physicians. A Professional Training Program prepares masters- and doctoral-level professionals to provide consultation and direct service to children with autism spectrum disorders, and to train and supervise other professionals and paraprofessionals in schools, early childhood centers, hospitals and other community agencies. Training is also available to University of Washington graduate students and post-doctoral fellows. Workshops for community agencies and school districts are also offered.
